Located on 1285 Petit Jean Mountain Rd, Morrilton, AR 72110, United States, Petit Jean State Park is the best place to be. The petit jean state park is one of Arkansas’s first state parks which was constructed in 1933. The park lies between the Ouachita Mountain ranges and the Ozark in west-central Arkansas. The park sits on 2,658 acres of natural beauty made up of streams, ravines, thick woods, and great views.
The park is named after a French girl who accompanied her lover disguised as a boy. The park is endowed with beautiful wildflowers, woods and great views other amazing natural features are the bear cave, the Grotto, Natural Bridge, and the carpet rocks formations. She fell ill and requested to be buried in the hills. Most residents believe that her spirit still lingers in the park thus giving the park an aura of strange enchantment.

Enjoy the great trail system that pans around 20 miles that moves around the massive park, some trails range from small trails to large ones spanning around 12 miles. The hikes are a path to discover new things, for instance, an ancient cabin that was constructed by slaves in the 19th century. There are 6 moderate trails in Petit Jean State Park ranging from 1.9 to 17.9 km and from 262 to 309 meters above sea level
The unique carpet rock attributed to by the filling of the cracks in sandstone by quartz cement, the non-erosive power of quarts made the area to attain a man-made like pattern that is found on the rocks of the area thus the name turtle rocks.
Wildlife watchers can observe mink, kingfishers, herons, and raccoons foraging the creeks for meals, which might include fish, frogs, crayfish, and mussels.
Bird lovers visit the park to see the Ring-Necked Duck, Bald Eagle, Wild Turkey, Spotted Sandpiper, Pileated Woodpecker, Double-Crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron Carolina Chickadee or Golden-Crowned Kinglet.
